Your smile is your most powerful asset, however, if you're unhappy with the appearance of your smile, it can have a significant impact on your confidence and self-esteem. Thankfully, with advancements in cosmetic dentistry, achieving the smile of your dreams is more accessible than ever before. In this post, we'll explore the transformative power of a smile makeover at Edgbaston Smile Clinic.

What is a Smile Makeover?

A smile makeover is a comprehensive approach to enhancing the look of your smile through a combination of cosmetic dental procedures. It involves customising treatments to address your unique concerns and goals, whether that be crooked teeth, gaps, missing teeth, old crowns, or maybe just discoloration. Often a smile makeover will include Composite Bonding, Porcelain Veneers, Teeth Whitening, Orthodontic Treatment and Dental Implants.

What does the consultation include?

Your journey to a stunning smile begins with a consultation with our skilled cosmetic dentist, Dr Shobna. During this initial visit, you'll discuss your aesthetic goals and undergo a comprehensive examination to evaluate the condition of your teeth and gums. Based on your preferences and oral health, your dentist will create a customised treatment plan to achieve your desired results.

Dr Shobna can then advise you of the treatment options available to you, give you an accurate quote and present you with a 3D format of your smile using our iTero Intraoral Scanner (This is done in collaboration with our dental technician), giving you a more detailed opportunity to view your smile from all angles.

What does treatment involve?

When you start treatment it may be composite bonding or porcelain veneers that you need, or both when necessary. Your teeth will then be precisely prepared and shaped to exact measures, and your temporary teeth will be fitted immediately. This could be described as a “dress rehearsal” and it will allow you to assess whether you would like any further changes, and to seek the opinion of your friends and family.

Finally the “trial smile” is made into e-max porcelain veneers. They are handcrafted by our skilled technician and will have the shape and nuances of natural teeth. Finally any composite bonding, whitening or other treatment that is required, is done chair-side.

The duration of a smile makeover can vary depending on your individual treatment plan, oral health, and the specific procedures involved. Each smile makeover is personally tailored and aftercare advice is carefully shown by Dr Shobhna.

A Smile Makeover is not just about changing your appearance, but also about regaining your confidence. With modern cosmetic dentistry techniques and personalised treatment plans, you can achieve the smile of your dreams.
